Jiu Jitsu is really for everyone?

Jiu Jitsu is really for everyone?
Jiu Jitsu is really for everyone?
Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that uses levers and traumatic blows in joints and neck. His techniques aims to make the physical strength of the opponent something less important, balancing the chances of self-defense.

Jiu-jitsu was created for the weak, not only for them.

Taking a look at the history of jiu-jitsu, we will know a key figure for all this to become possible, Helio Gracie, was a man without avantajadas physical skills, a frail man, but very smart.

In one of his interviews when asked about the strength in jiu-jitsu Helium, said: "Jiu-jitsu is so efficient that a weak person is able to overcome another strong. If a person master the techniques of jiu-jitsu and still be strong, it will be hard to beat. ".

In other words we can conclude that the technique takes advantage of the strength, but the two combined are more efficient.

It is fair mix weight, age range and in the same workout?
It is fair mix weight, age range and in the same workout?
There are gyms that have enough demand to split workouts at different times , children, women , adults , competitors etc. . Perhaps the ideal format , however this ends up being commercially unviable for most jiu-jitsu academies of Brazil .I teach Jiu - Jitsu on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 07:00 to 08:30 and this time it is not possible to have another class due to physical space limitation . I have students who can only take classes at this time . Students do not have the same physical , technical and age .My goal is to get the maximum performance from each of them , I try to create challenges that they can overcome , I make it clear to them that their limits are different and that their victories are single . They are not competing with each other , are training and evolving with the help of the team.Advantages of joint trainingTraining in groups with different levels has its advantages , generally the level of training is high and over time the individual limits will be increasing , even athletes who have greater difficulty end up going beyond what normally would .I believe that the difficulty beginners is greater due to the fact of not having mastery over the techniques of jiu jitsu and thus be " forced to compete in strength."

Jiu-jitsu is old?
Jiu-jitsu is old?
There is something that we call physical performance curve , this curve is divided into periods that we consider preparation, apex and decline. The preparation can be considered as the way we travel to reach the peak of our physical form that after a period of time begins to decline , where the body no longer responds as before and physical performance is not the same . A certain age it does not exist , will largely depend on the lifestyle of the athlete, but is a normal part of life that the pace will start to sag and the body shall not surrender even when young. But time also has the advantage of experience , maturity and "tips " . Remember that jiu - jitsu is the gentle art , less strength and more efficiently.

This only happens in jiu - jitsu ?

Not ! This is a characteristic of life , with time things , people and machines wear out and have its performance compromised but in jiu jitsu can render much longer to have been created " for the weak ."

To finalize

I'm finishing this post, I want to thank you again for sending Rodrigo in his outburst and which undoubtedly will help a lot of people passing through the same situation, either teacher or student.

I say goodbye with this video, which leaves no doubt that YES, jiu jitsu is for everyone! And furthermore leads us to reflect on what is really important in jiu-jitsu and in any sport. Respect, resilience and humility.

The jiu jitsu is really for everyone?
